I don’t need to go looking for You.
You found me first.
You are already here.
You were always here.

Where can I go to escape your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to heaven, you are there;
if I make my bed in Sheol, you are there.
If I fly on the wings of the dawn
and settle down on the western horizon,
even there your hand will lead me;

Written Prayer
Lord of all places,
You are not waiting in the distance.
You are not out of sight and
I am not out of your mind.
You are not hiding,
You’re not behind the veil.
You are here,
In this room,
In this body,
In this breath.
I don’t need to summon You.
I need only to notice You.
Wake me up to the nearness of heaven.
Confession & Assurance
Confession
I confess the ways I’ve assumed You were far off,
distant, detached, disinterested.
I’ve searched for You in places You never left.
Forgive me for when I treat You like a stranger.
Assurance
Christ has come close.
The Spirit has moved in.
You are not alone.
God is already here.
