Blessed Are the Weak
Angels & Saints: A Modern Book of Common Prayer
Call to Prayer
You don’t have to be strong to be blessed.
You just have to be honest.
Scripture
“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is
perfected in weakness.” Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the
more about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may reside in
me.”
2nd Corinthians 12:9 (CSB)
Prayer
God, I’m not strong today. But maybe I don’t need to be.
I give You my shaky prayers, my tired hope, my half-hearted faith.
Be strong in me where I can’t be strong for myself.
Confession & Assurance
Confession
I confess the shame I feel in weakness.
I pretend. I power through. I avoid asking for help.
Forgive me for trusting my strength more than Yours.
Assurance
God is not disappointed by your weakness.
He is drawn to it. That’s where grace lives.
Reflection Prompt
Where do I feel weak and where might God want to meet me there?
Prayer from the Saints
“The Christian’s motto should not be ‘self-sufficiency’ but ‘power
through weakness.”
- J.I. Packer
Closing Benediction
Go gently today.
You don’t need to be impressive, just honest.
